Melissa Shippen Burrows is a professional Soprano, Vocal Instructor and Stage Presence Coach who resides in Nashville, Tennessee and works with singers internationally in all genres of music, from promising songwriters and chart-topping country music artists in Nashville to Broadway stage singers and classically-trained operatic artists all requiring top-level technical conditioning, magnetic onstage audience connection and diction coaching in multiple languages. Melissa holds both Master and Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from The Juilliard School in New York City. As an opera singer and symphonic soprano, she worked between the United States and Germany for 15 years and many of her exciting credits have included solo performances at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center in NYC, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the United Nations. She was first prize winner of several national and international level competitions, was heard on the title track of RCA’s recording Belle Nuit and sang in solo concert as a United States Presidential Scholar for U.S. President Clinton at the age of 17. Mrs. Burrows honed her skills with legendary performing artists including Leontyne Price, Renée Fleming and Marilyn Horne.
